Dahlov Ipcar was an award-winning illustrator and author, as well as a prolific and accomplished painter. Best known for her colorful, kaleidoscopic paintings of animals, Ipcar produced fabric collages, hooked rugs, needlepoint tapestries and unique soft sculptures. Dahlov Ipcar’s larger works include ten (10) mural projects in the United States, including hospitals in Massachusetts and Maine and post offices in Tennessee and Oklahoma. Dahlov Ipcar was both the first woman and is still the youngest person to date to have a solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
